First Baptist Church is submissive to the lordship of Jesus Christ. Who He is and what He has accomplished is the centerpiece of our faith and life. He is our head and His Word is the sole authority of our faith and practice. The 66 books of the Old and New Testament are the only basis for our beliefs. We are devoted to the proclamation and protection of His Word.

Our Statement of Faith
The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message accurately describes our position on essential doctrines. We expect all members and staff of First Baptist Church to affirm and celebrate these doctrines.
Our Affiliations
We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Missouri Baptist Convention, and the Blue River – Kansas City Baptist Association. The Southern Baptist Convention consist of 47,000+ cooperating churches that support 3,500+ missionaries around the world and 5,000+ missionaries and church planters in the United States.
